“Loving God’s Law”
Sermon, Dr. Rayburn
- Love of God involves obedience to His will.
- Antinomians would pit love for God against obedience to the Law.
- Antinomianism is the arch-heresy that so often lies as a foundation beneath other heresies.
- Negative judgments against the Law come very near to casting doubt on the character of God.
- God’s law is not a burden or yoke.
- One of the reasons that God’s commandments are not burdensome to us is because of the new nature which God imparts to us by His Spirit.
- We were made by God for a pure life. The only thing that will truly fulfill us is a life of purity.
- How often do we adjust our duties to our desires, instead of our desires to our duties?
